Wandid Amini Korimbo 

My name is Wandid Amini Korimbo. I am a proud Mother of four I come from a small reef-side beachside village called Alukuni located 3 hours drive outside the capital city of Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea.

I am self-employed, working and managing my own company of 10 years now called Niugini Native Limited in Papua New Guinea. I carry 2 labels WISKA is my fashion line sold in Glow Boutique outlets in Port Moresby and my corporate line Niugini Native Ltd sold in Jacks PNG.

I specialise in creating custom indigenous design clothing for corporate bodies, special interest groups, and individuals. Drawing inspiration and design content from my country’s abundant and individually unique one thousand plus tribes’ cultures and art forms.

I have also designed and showcased in the fashion space of Papua New Guinea, the Pacific, and the Oceania region through my fashion label WISKA.

Both my corporate and fashion labels are created relying heavily on inspiration and design content from my country’s abundantly diverse one-thousand-plus tribes who are all individually unique with their language, dance, traditional dress, body art, and customs. Through God’s grace, I am proud to say that I have, designed and dressed ,Miss Papua New Guinea twice in 2023 and 2024, Miss Pacific once in 2023, Miss Pacific runner-up in 2024.

Been invited to showcase my fashion line outside of PNG in fashion shows such as: The Sydney (Australia)Pacific International Runway 2018-awarded “Best International Established Fashion Award”. The Melbourne (Australia) Pacific International Runway 2018. The Auckland (New Zealand) Fusion Fashion runway 2019 – (non-attendance due to Covid 19) . San Francisco (CA) 2022 – Represented PNG in the Pacific Fashion Runway.

I consider Papua New Guinea to be my village and the Pacific Islands to be my tribe- One tribe and One people. Where we are spoilt with teeming blue seas, white reefs and sandy beaches, cool rivers, lazy lagoons, and abundant flora and fauna. Best of all, the Pacific is inhabited by indigenous peoples who are humble, honest, hard-working, kind, forever smiling and singing, and yet are also fiercely proud, and resilient.

Apart from a good International Primary and Secondary school experience, I have no formal tertiary education but I am proud that everything I know and am succeeding with in my business and professional journey thus far, is 100% self-learned and self-taught designer.
