Fred Schwenke, a renowned figure in the world of Pacific cultural arts, is a devoted family man, father of three, and happily married to Maryjane Schwenke. Born and raised in the vibrant and culturally rich surroundings of Samoa, Fred now resides in Australia, where he continues to make significant contributions to the preservation and promotion of Pacific heritage.

Fred's journey in the realm of performing arts began during his upbringing in Samoa, where he showcased his talent by dancing for esteemed groups such as Aggie Greys Hotel, Margrey ta’s, Samoa Visitors Bureau, and various groups in Hawaii. His passion for dance and commitment to promoting Samoan culture led him on numerous tours around the world, where he captivated audiences and shared the beauty of Samoa through his performances.

Currently serving as the co-director at Matavai Pacific Cultural Arts, a prominent cultural center based in Sydney, Fred plays a pivotal role in fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for Pacific cultural traditions. At Matavai, he takes the lead in teaching traditional Samoan dances such as Siva Afi and Faataupati. Under his guidance, the center offers a diverse array of programs encompassing eight different Pacific cultural arts, providing a comprehensive and immersive experience for enthusiasts and learners alike.

Fred Schwenke's impact extends beyond the walls of Matavai, as he has contributed significantly to the success of Moemoana Safa’ato’a Schwenke in pageantry. His teachings played a crucial role in Moemoana's winning talent performances for Miss Samoa and Miss Pacific ISLANDS, further solidifying his reputation as a mentor and influencer in the world of Pacific cultural arts.
