BRONSON VEA

Manaia Kakala & Flowers Owner/Creator

Bronson Lolomanaia Vea was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, on the slopes of Diamond Head. Although Bronson was born in Hawaii and is of mixed race, he holds his Tongan heritage close to his heart. His family migrated many miles from the small kingdom of Tonga to seek a brighter future in Hawaii, but they have never lost their love for their culture. Raised with strong Tongan cultural values, he has developed a deep appreciation and understanding of his heritage.

Surrounded by many cultural practices, from the Polynesian Cultural Center to Kalo's South Seas Review and the numerous luaus on the islands, he has helped perpetuate various cultures. Bronson has worked for many years in the tourism industry on the shores of Waikiki and the renowned International Market Place. He enjoys sharing and teaching his culture and other South Pacific cultures through cultural crafts. From weaving and tapa cloth making to costume creation and lei-making, he loves it all.

He lives by the motto of the Friendly Island: "Koe Otua mo Tonga ko Hoku Tofia" or "God and Tonga are my inheritance." He is very proud of his culture and is enthusiastic about teaching anything he knows. You will always find him wearing traditional attire wherever he goes. He will greet you with a warm, loving smile and always welcomes anyone who wants to learn about his culture.
